Bespoke Cabinetry Plus: Kitchens

As principal/founder of New Breed Furniture, I started my career in residential carpentry in 1986, leveling up into high end custom cabinetry around 1994, then finally graduating into design/built furniture in 2008. After sixteen years growing a celebrated product line, I have returned to the world of custom cabinetry, but this time with a clear design language that marries my furniture world (Plus) with the world of Bespoke Cabinetry.

Our approach toward Bespoke kitchens starts with a love for woodworking, a love for yellow glue, a love for circles and oblong shapes, a love for solid wood quarter round corners, a love for built in handles, a love for thick doors and faces, and a love for the time tested rail and stile and tongue and groove joinery perfectly fitted.

This kitchen feels rooted in a proven tradition while being fresh, new, modern, dope. The clean look of having no applied handles and the variety and rationalism of the built in handle language, the expertly fitted full inset doors, the state of the art hardware like full extension trash, pantry sliders, spice racks, inside corner storage, and the massive amount of white oak drawers that matches and harmonizes, these elements cause a unique experience.

We have everything in place to offer world class collabs with the right clients who love what we do.

Please come and find us, we need to build a future perfect together.

Bespoke Cabinetry Plus: Closets

I’m proud to say I am in love with this whole Bespoke Cabinetry Plus world that we have created, but I’m especially smitten with these closets and mud room.

How to make a mud room sing?
The mudroom features a splendid combination of what is our new sensation, Mooncloud Handles, with a playful use of rattan that bends and curves creating a continuous spline channel that gives the eye something to track. This mudroom also has a fun interplay of symmetrical and asymmetrical doors and freezer face (yes there is a built in fridge). When asked if designing for the mud room was something we’d be interested in?, it was taken as a challenge, and I’m proud to say expectations were happily surpassed.

How to keep it classy with closets?
Similarly, great care was taken when planning the master bed room closets, tailored to the exact needs of the client providing a combination of mirrors, drawers, cubbies, open shelving, and metal closet rods. When entering their walk in closets, we wanted the homeowners to experience an added skip to their step, feeling extra cool in their classy ass closets. We were so happy to sow our contemporary heirloom vision into every room in the house, making each space a creative challenge.

Bespoke Cabinetry Plus: Bathrooms

Contemporary Heirloom and Timeless Modernism are two good ways to describe what our Bespoke Cabinetry line is all about, inhabiting both fresh futuristic design, made with old school craft, using the highest quality domestic hardwood.

Bathrooms are sacred spaces that should always lift your spirits and provide the storage for cleaning and beautification. On this project we had a lot of fun creating dream clean spaces for hydrotherapy. The four bathrooms on this last project gave us an opportunity to combine our standard oblong built in handles in all its iterations with our new Mooncloud handles, showing how this curious pull can drift around and be placed anywhere in a door or drawer face. The make up stations were scribed into wood clad nooks with skinny drawers beside unique cabinetry storage. Designing multiple heavenly spaces at the same time is the best!
